10 Japanese Typography Websites & Free Downloads
I was browsing through some of my old bookmarks and stumbled across a lot of Japanese typography/font websites and I thought I would like to share them with some of you. Although Japanese fonts may not be something you would use on a typical day, maybe it can be of use one day. If you like some of these and would like to see more, just respond on this thread and Ill drop more of what I have. Enjoy!

Was wondering you have ding bats of Japan? More fonts please.
Great looking fonts but can’t read most of them LOL :-p. I did snag most of the English type fonts…1st three sites mentioned were the best in my opinion…people still use bitmap/pixel fonts?! Geesh they are hard to read…

; ; these dont work with Japanese, only with english keyboard. Good but not to usefull unless u wanna type the alphabet and see what letter= what character.

Thank you so much for this post, it was truly exceptional. I was looking for new fonts for the doujinshis in progress, and would you believe some that you posted on the free sites are over $500 on certain font sites for basically the same design??? I thought I was gonna have to sit here and design 5 types of japanese fonts for our books and now my brain can stay un-exploded thanks to you. ^_^

Are all these fonts encoded with Kanji as well? Judging by their sizes I’d say none of them do.

If you are looking for free fonts, check http://www.fonts2u.com. Discovered it just few days ago. Their
character map search is awesome! Saved some time when looking for specific character maps supported.
