I have been a die hard fan of smashingmagazine for a while now, and it was an honor being able to write for them. I have covered a lot of “how-to” type articles, and so I wanted to challenge myself with a very basic CSS guide. I never realized how difficult it was trying to explain the most simple techniques. It was quite a challenge and I hope I did a good job so the beginners can easily understand.
If anyone has any advice, requests, or suggestions for my future guest post articles, please let me know. I’m constantly trying to better myself and it would appreciate your support

I really enjoyed reading it, I think there’s a lot of people out there that have been using CSS for years, and still don’t understand how floats work, the difference between margin and padding, etc. However, I doubt that these individuals will take the time to sit down and read something
Awesome Soh! I’m not a beginner but it was easy to understand the concept.
I’ve read the article already and I don’t think I’m a beginner, but it’s true that there’s still so many thinks to learn! Smashing Magazine has found a way to mesmerize people online. It is addicting and huge, therefore it is nice to find out about the other users by links. I visit often, and get sent everywhere on the net.
Great job on the page. Really like your layout and original navigation.
Thank you guys! I appreciate your feedback
Congrats!
Stumbled on to your site and have been using it as inspiration for CSS.
Excellent work on the CSS tutorial. It answers alot of queries I had on the basic elements of CSS. Most people don’t realise that a strong grasp of the fundamentles will go a long way in deciding how creative you are with CSS in designing web layouts and the like.
Very nice !! going to save for future inspiration
This is a great article guys, great work.
I am still getting comfortable with everything I can do with CSS, but I can tell you that your article was the most concise and effective tool to learn the basics that I have ever seen. I hope others are willing to read the entire article. I have 400 page CSS books that can’t explain it that well.
Very well done! Bravo!
Keep up the great work.
