At least, people can be busy when they want to save the image, they have to find the script first. :0 -regards from Indonesia-

This Is good it's just unsafe I can easlly right click and click source code and download the image.
what you need to do is when the file uploads to put it in the image. So it's stuck.

If you really wanted your image to be fully protected by a water mark wouldn't you just watermark it yourself in photoshop? That way the watermark can't be removed.

But it's nifty to know you can do this with css.

Hey nice site by the way, I've been reading through your articles for a while and picking up some new techniques and getting ideas to revamp my own site. I'm looking to set up a similar business you've got running here, all though I'll be focusing more on illustration and graphic design, as I've just finished my illustration course and need to get started in this industry, which seems overwhelming now because there are A LOT! of designers out there now days, whoah. I guess I'll just start off small and gradually step up the ladder.

But once again, awesome site. It's helping me a lot :D

Morale of the story- If you wanna protect your images ...... well there's no way really. It's even possible to strip images off a flash anim nowadays.

Nice post though.

Clearly, if your adding a watermark via jquery/css there is going to be a way around it. If you didn't come here knowing that you shouldn't be using this concept. The idea is, the average user will likely not have the knowledge to download the untouched image, if your showcasing a photographer's website who's visitors are going to be in this group, the script is an excellent solution.

Great work Soh!

Taken from 2nd paragraph of introduction.

"Let me be upfront with the downside of the technique, it’s not fully steal-proof. Anyone with knowledge of CSS and that are web savvy can still easily take your images. This only prevents the average Joe from taking them."

Dude thats not bad but I can still steal it, whats the point of making watermark if I can steal it :D not bad but not perfect. I can remove the watermark with firebug, and in that moment print the screen and save the image without watermark :P
