Ah I see what your saying. In this case I believe you would have to either specify an exact height on the list item or use jQuery. Check out the tutorial here: http://www.cssnewbie.com/equal-height-columns-with-jquery/

The problem with fixing this with CSS is that since its liquid, we cant use the giant background technique used in some cases (since the width of each columns are in % vs fixed width, the background won’t layout correctly).
